MEGADETH to release a version of Ride The Lightning

Dave Mustaine confirmed that an adaptation of the song he helped write for Metallica will be on Megadeth's farewell album to "honor his friendship with James Hetfield" and "close the circle." The iconic song "Ride The Lightning" was co-written by Mustaine during his time in Metallica, before forming Megadeth. Decades later, Dave has decided to record his own version as part of Megadeth's final self-titled album. This version represents a historic moment: closing a circle that began in the early days of thrash metal and connects two of the most important bands in the genre. The song will be included as a bonus track on the album "Megadeth", which will be released on January 23, 2026.
