Megadeth Announces Massive European Farewell Tour Starting March 9, 2027

Megadeth confirmed a massive European leg of their farewell tour, set to kick off on March 9, 2027 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The legendary thrash metal outfit will be joined on the bill by Testament and Black Label Society, creating a three‑band lineup that promises to draw fans from across the continent. The announcement, published by Metal Injection on February 15, 2024, marks the first official date release for the final chapter of the band’s touring career. The Irish capital will host the opening night at the SSE Arena, a venue that has previously welcomed Megadeth for sold‑out shows in 2018 and 2022. According to the press release, the European circuit will include major markets such as London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Rome, with dates spanning from March through June 2027. Each concert will feature a full set from Megadeth, followed by a set from Testament and a closing performance by Black Label Society. The tour is billed as the "Final Farewell" and is expected to be the last series of live performances by frontman Dave Mustaine and his longtime collaborators. Dave Mustaine, Megadeth's founder and lead guitarist, issued a statement saying, "We are honored to share the stage with Testament and Black Label Society as we say goodbye to our fans worldwide. This tour is a celebration of three decades of music, and we want to make it unforgettable for everyone who has supported us." ("Estamos honrados de compartir el escenario con Testament y Black Label Society mientras nos despedimos de nuestros fans en todo el mundo. Esta gira es una celebración de tres décadas de música, y queremos que sea inolvidable para todos los que nos han apoyado.") Testament’s frontman, Chuck Billy, added, "Playing alongside Megadeth on their final run is a privilege. We look forward to delivering a powerful show for the fans." ("Tocar junto a Megadeth en su última gira es un privilegio. Esperamos ofrecer un espectáculo poderoso para los fans.") Black Label Society’s guitarist, Zakk Wylde, remarked, "It’s an honor to close out such an iconic tour. We’ll bring the heavy, soulful sound that our fans love." ("Es un honor cerrar una gira tan icónica. Traeremos el sonido pesado y soulful que nuestros fans aman.") Ticket sales for the European leg will open on March 1, 2024 via the official Megadeth website and authorized ticketing partners. Early‑bird packages include a limited‑edition tour poster, a digital download of the upcoming live album, and a meet‑and‑greet opportunity with the band. The tour is expected to generate significant economic impact for host cities, with local promoters projecting attendance figures of 15,000 to 20,000 per venue. Fans and industry analysts view the announcement as a final opportunity to experience Megadeth live before the band retires from touring. The farewell tour follows the release of the band's latest studio album, "The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!" (2024), and comes after a decade of extensive touring cycles. With Testament and Black Label Society adding their own fanbases, the European leg is poised to become one of the most memorable series of concerts in metal history.
