Iron Maiden's rise and fall is explored in a new documentary titled Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition. The film, set to hit theaters worldwide in May, features archival footage of the band and interviews with members of Metallica, Anthrax, and Rage Against the Machine. The trailer, available now, showcases the band's connection with millions of fans worldwide. "If you're an Iron Maiden fan, you're part of one family, my friends," vocalist Bruce Dickinson explains in one old clip. The film will trace Maiden's 50-year journey, tackling the music and behind-the-scenes highs and lows. "Any long career is going to have ups and downs, and you just kind of ride with it," bassist Steve Harris says. The trailer hints at Maiden's meteoric rise in the Eighties, the grunge scene's impact on their popularity in the Nineties, hard-partying problems, internal fistfights, health challenges, and more. Famous fans, including Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, weigh in on the band. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich discusses Eddie, the band's iconic mascot. "This group created its own universe," Public Enemy's Chuck D says. Directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition hits movie theaters on May 7th. The band continues their "Run for Your Lives" tour, including a summer run around North America with Megadeth and Anthrax. Iron Maiden recently received their third nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and fans can vote for the group now on the Rock Hall's website.
