Angelus Apatrida Signs with Napalm Records, Releases “Cycle of Ruin”
Spanish thrash metal outfit Angelus Apatrida announced on August 22, 2026 that they have officially signed with Napalm Records and released the first single, “Cycle of Ruin,” from their upcoming three‑track EP The Reckoning. The announcement came just days after the band shared the stage with Megadeth on a Iberian tour, confirming that the group is entering a new chapter with a label that has pursued them for years. The new single, described by the band as “fast, relentless and straight to the face,” showcases razor‑sharp riffs, powerful vocals and a blistering guitar solo before segueing into the EP’s overall aggressive tone. The track is now available on all major streaming platforms, and the EP is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. The Reckoning will contain “Cycle of Ruin,” “Burn It Down,” and a re‑imagined version of Sepultura’s “Propaganda,” also available digitally. Speaking about the partnership, Angelus Apatrida said, “It’s time to turn the page! Napalm Records has been after us for years and finally the moment has arrived. From day one we felt their enthusiasm, ambition and understanding of who we are and where we want to go.” The band added, “We still have the same hunger as always and it’s incredible to finally call Napalm Records our new home.” The EP was produced by the band themselves, recorded by Juanan López, and mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Zeuss, delivering a sound that “reflects exactly the point we are at right now.” Regarding the single, the group explained, “Everything starts with ‘Cycle of Ruin.’ We knew the first song of this new era had to leave a mark, and ‘Cycle of Ruin’ felt like the obvious choice: rapid, merciless and straight to the face, a fresh modern vision of old‑school thrash that has always been at the heart of this band.” They also revealed that the video was shot at a pool party surrounded by friends, aiming to capture the same chaotic energy. Angelus Apatrida will support the release with a series of live dates across Europe in August and September 2026, including shows in Austria (Spital am Semmering), Spain (Palencia, A Coruña, Las Palmas, Lleida), and Finland (Tampere, Turku, Helsinki). Fans can pre‑order the physical edition of The Reckoning through the link provided in the official announcement. The signing marks a significant milestone for a band that has been active for more than two decades, having performed at major European festivals and shared stages with metal legends. With Napalm Records’ distribution network and promotional resources, Angelus Apatrida is poised to reach a broader international audience while staying true to their thrash roots.
