Guitarist of Megadeth's United Abominations era
Canada

Glen Drover is a Canadian guitarist known for his precise technique and affinity for melodic and progressive metal. Born in Ontario in 1969, Glen formed Eidolon with his brother Shawn in the '90s, releasing seven power/prog metal albums and earning a reputation in the underground scene. He also played guitar for King Diamond in the late '90s, showcasing his skills live during two years of touring. In 2004, Mustaine invited him to be Megadeth's lead guitarist for the reunion tour, after seeing him shine in Eidolon. Glen fit perfectly; as a lifelong Megadeth fan, he knew the repertoire and added fidelity and passion to every performance. His strong work led Mustaine to keep him as a permanent member for the next album. Glen Drover recorded most of the solos on United Abominations (2007), standing out on tracks like 'Washington Is Next!' with fast scales and on 'Never Walk Alone' with twin harmonies alongside Mustaine. The album was well received and Glen enjoyed the peak of his career, playing massive festivals and being part of Megadeth's rebirth. However, the long international tours began to take a toll on his personal life. At the end of 2007, Glen decided to leave the band to spend more time with his family and avoid the stress of touring. His official departure was announced in January 2008. After Megadeth, Glen remained active: he released the instrumental album Metalusion (2011) fusing metal with jazz-rock, collaborated with musicians like Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche), and participated in local projects. In 2016 he formed Walls of Blood, exploring progressive metal. Glen is remembered by fans for his friendly demeanor and clean, precise guitar style. During his tenure, Megadeth returned to the forefront, and United Abominations showcased his contribution. To this day, Glen Drover is respected for his broad career: from Eidolon's complex riffs to the incendiary solos he brought to Megadeth's history.
